• Thethani is an NGO program run entirely by university students - aimed at giving underprivileged young people a chance to raise their voice on important societal discussions.

• We work with 15 schools throughout Cape Town's townships to bring debating as an extramural to over 200 excited and intelligent learners.

​

• Coaches host engaging workshops in schools each week on all manner of content
  - from Economics to Ethics
  - from public speaking to argument formation
  Learners gain hosts of different knowledge and skills from every session.

• Weekend Tournaments are where the fun happens. 
  Battling it out, schools get to test their new skills with each other.
  Social and competitive - tournaments are where we get to see our learners shine.

• Thethani also works with the Western Cape Schools Debating Board to get many of our learners onto Provincial and even National Debating Teams.
